LOWDEN CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

PROCEEDINGS OF LOWDEN CITY COUNCIL, REGULAR MEETING, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2008, 5:30 PM, CITY HALL

The regular meeting of the Lowden City Council was called to order by Mayor
Dan Hamdorf. Council members present on roll call: Conrad, Ryan, Olsen, Decker, Tucker. Visitors: Gene Hamdorf, Pat Kroemer.

M/S Ryan, Decker to approve the minutes of the 1/7/08 and 1/28/08 meetings. Ayes: All.

M/S Conrad, Decker to approve the bills as presented. Ayes: All.

Three bids were received for the City's old 42" cardboard baler. City Carton Co. bid $950, Superior Vending bid $375, and David Kraklio bid $400.
M/S Conrad, Decker to accept the bid of $950 from City Carton Co. for the cardboard baler. Ayes: All.

Mayor Hamdorf appointed Marnell Scheeper, if willing to serve, to the Resource Enhancement and Protection Committee (REAP) for Cedar County.

M/S Ryan, Decker to approve the FY07 annual auditor's report for the City of Lowden performed by Dietz, Donald and Co. of Elkader, Iowa. Ayes: All.

Mayor Hamdorf will speak to ECIA about the contract for the City's Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan.

Mayor Hamdorf told the council they should look at the water treatment plant pipework. The 1981 piping needs to be replaced in the very near future.

Mayor Hamdorf also stated he had spoken to various residents about moving their vehicles for proper snow removal.

Mayor Hamdorf reported he attended the Cedar County Solid Waste meeting last week and disposal fees for the City will remain the same for next year.
