LOWDEN CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

PROCEEDINGS OF LOWDEN CITY COUNCIL, SPECIAL MEETING, TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2004, 7:00 PM

The special meeting of the Lowden City Council was called to order by Mayor Reuben Wenndt. Councilmembers present on roll call: Conrad, Decker, Kroemer. Visitors: Steve Vanderah, Jason Miller, Rob Uphof. The purpose of the special meeting was to interview engineers for the proposed water tower project.

Steve Vanderah, Shoemaker & Haaland Engineers, Coralville, presented information to the council about their engineering firm. He stated their firm engineered the City’s well project in 1999 and has helped with some other smaller projects. The City Council would decide what tower design they preferred, either a 5-legged tower or a pedestal tower.

M/S Kroemer, Conrad to seat Hamdorf at 7:19 PM. Ayes: Decker, Kroemer, Conrad.

Jason Miller and Rob Uphof, MSA, Dubuque, also presented information to the council about their services. They stated Lowden currently has necessary pressure but not enough storage in the 30,000 gallon tank.

After discussion, M/S Decker, Hamdorf to hire MSA for engineering services for the water tower project. Ayes: All.

M/S Kroemer, Hamdorf to adjourn at 9:25 PM. Ayes: All.
