LOWDEN CITY COUNCIL MINUTES PROCEEDINGS OF LOWDEN CITY COUNCIL, SPECIAL MEETING, MONDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2003, 5:30 PM The
special meeting of the Lowden City Council was called to order by Mayor
Reuben Wenndt. Councilmembers
present: Kroemer, Hintz,
Gottschalk, Hamdorf. Visitors:
Pat Kroemer, Gene Hamdorf, Jay Weiland, Don Hunwardsen, Bonnie
Hunwardsen. Hunwardsen’s
had requested a special meeting to discuss the sewer line extension to
their car wash south of Highway 30. They
want to sell the car wash and it is necessary for them to be hooked up
to the City sewer system. JJJ Enterprises had given an estimate of
$13527 to Hunwardsen’s to bore under the highway to extend the sewer
line. Jay Weiland said the
boring price would be less since they would be boring a water line at
the same time. M/S
Kroemer, Hamdorf to seat Conrad at 5:35 PM.
Ayes: Kroemer, Hintz,
Gottschalk, Hamdorf. After
discussion, M/S Kroemer, Hintz for the City to pay $5000 to
Hunwardsen’s for the sewer line extension project south of Hwy. 30,
with the City taking ownership of the line from manhole to manhole.
Ayes: Conrad.
Nays: Kroemer, Hintz,
Hamdorf, Gottschalk. Motion failed. M/S
Hintz, Kroemer for the City to pay $5625.70 to Hunwardsen’s for the
sewer line extension project south of Hwy. 30, with the City taking
ownership of the line from manhole to manhole.
Ayes: Kroemer, Hintz,
Gottschalk, Hamdorf. Nays:
Conrad. Motion passed.
The $5625.70 figure will cover the cost of installation of the
sewer line north of Hwy. 30 to the manhole south of Hwy. 30 and the cost
of 300’ of pipe. M/S Kroemer, Hamdorf to adjourn at 6:10 PM. Ayes: All.
